Panel representation at ASTRA-AGNI 2025

We are delighted to share that our director Dr. Yedhu Krishna had the opportunity to serve as a panelist representing our incubation centre, Space Technology Innovation and Incubation Centre (STIIC) at the KSPACE Lift-Off event, held as part of the ASTRA-AGNI 2025 Conference organized by the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandrum (IIST). It was an honour to be part of a distinguished panel that included Mr. G. Levin, CEO of KSPACE, along with experienced founders from pioneering startups such as HEX20, Strava Technologies, and Taclog. The discussion highlighted emerging opportunities, innovation pathways, and the growing ecosystem supporting aerospace and space-tech ventures in Kerala.

Specrule Scientific Signs Incubation Agreement with STIIC–IIST

On 15th August 2023, coinciding with the 77th Independence day of India, Specrule Scientific Pvt. Ltd. signed the official agreement for incubation at the Space Technology Innovation and Incubation Centre (STIIC), IIST. The agreement signing took place in the esteemed presence of Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, Former Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), ISRO and IIST.

Specrule Scientific Pvt. Ltd. has achieved an important milestone with the publication of its first journal article, titled “1D Interferometric Mie Scattering for Micronozzle Exit Flow Velocity Measurement” in the journal Measurement Science and Technology This work presents a noval one-dimensional interferometric Mie scattering (IMS) system indigenously developed by Specrule Scientific in collaboration with Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), reinforcing our commitment to developing advanced optical diagnostic solutions and contributing meaningful innovation to the field.

Conference papers

Specrule Scientific presented the paper “Temperature Measurement in a Hot Furnace Using Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy” at the Symposium on Applied Aerodynamics and Design of Aerospace Vehicle (SAROD 2024), held on December 12–14, 2024, in Thiruvananthapuram, India. The work demonstrates a TDLAS-based temperature measurement approach for high-temperature furnace environments, highlighting its applicability to aerospace and combustion diagnostics.

Specrule Scientific attended the International Conference on Advances in Aerospace and Energy Systems conducted on April 04-06, 2024, at Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, ISRO, Thiruvananthapuram. We presented the paper “Temperature Measurement in a Steam Jet using Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy”, showcasing the use of TDLAS for accurate, non-intrusive temperature measurement in steam jet flows.

Specrule Scientific got the privilege to attend the first AIAA Conference held in independent India : the 25th AIAA International Space Planes and Hypersonic Systems and Technologies Conference, held at Banglore on 28 May 2023 – 1 June 2024. We presented the paper “One-dimensional Interferometric Scattering Velocimetry for High-speed Flows”.
