Customized Measurement
Systems

The primary focus of the company is on the development of customized measurement systems based on optics and laser technology.

Sample Products

TDLAS

A tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) system targeting water vapor molecules.

Interferometric Scattering

A velocity measurement system based on laser interferometric scattering. This system has been used to measure flow velocity at the exit of micro-nozzles.

A major area of emphasis for Specrule is aerospace flow diagnostics. The aerospace industry depends heavily on advanced ground test facilities for the characterization of flight models and components. These facilities generate high-speed gas flows to study complex aerodynamic and combustion phenomena encountered during flight. Traditional measurement methods often fall short in such environments, as they tend to be intrusive and can disturb the flow under investigation. In contrast, optical and laser-based diagnostic techniques enable non-intrusive flow measurements, utilizing either laser beams transmitted through the flow or the light naturally emitted from it. Techniques such as Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS), Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), and Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) are widely employed in research laboratories worldwide.

At Specrule Scientific, our mission is to develop customized, indigenous laser-based measurement systems that make these advanced techniques more accessible. By designing and assembling these systems locally, we aim to significantly reduce the cost, lead time, and maintenance requirements while offering full customization to meet specific client needs.

Our scope isn't limited to aerospace research. We warmly welcome clients and collaborators from all sectors to share their unique challenges or project ideas.
